Assistance League® of Phoenix Delivering Dreams Bus Will Bring New School Clothing to All Children First Academy’s Low Income Students

Posted On: 2013-08-06

On August 8th at 8:30am, Assistance League® of Phoenix's new Operation School Bell® Delivering Dreams Bus will roll-up to CFA’s campus located at 1648 South 16th Street in Phoenix. Over 330 current CFA students will be given new clothes and school supplies with an estimated retail value of $400 per child.

The 40 ft. city bus has been retrofitted into a mobile dressing center, complete with a waiting area, dressing rooms, racks for clothing and shoes, shoe fitting area and a sewing station.

"The need for new school clothing and supplies is great because when it comes to CFA’s student population many families have to choose between feeding their family verses clothing. Many of these kids don’t even have the basics such as shoes that fit or their own toothbrush. If we can provide clothing for these children, it will enable the families to use their resources for other basic needs," says Assistance League® of Phoenix Executive Director, Aimee Runyon.

During the August 8th event each CFA student at the Phoenix Campus will receive: two bottoms (pants, shorts), three polo shirts, a sweatshirt, a belt, six pairs of socks, six pairs of underwear, a pair of athletic shoes, a hygiene kit (full size shampoo, soap, toothbrush, toothpaste), a backpack with school supplies and a duffel bag for all items to go in. Backpacks and school supplies will also be provided by Pay Pal's Back to School fundraiser.
