Surprise Ford Christmas Show

See cars of all makes and models on display at Surprise Ford, and help fill a truck with donated children's clothes, toys and food for Children First Academy of Phoenix to benefit homeless children. Awards will be given in 24 classes, and all vehicles entered will receive a goodie bag and dash plaque. Hot dogs, chips and a drink are free to entrants and available for a nominal fee for spectators. Entertainment includes raffles and music from the Heart of Rock N Soul Band and DJ Greg. If it rains, the show will be rescheduled for Dec. 20.

Newly opened Phoenix Indoor Karting at the southwestern corner of 35th Avenue and Greenway Road will be the spot for a cruise-in every Friday evening. DJ Michael Knight will play oldies, rock and contemporary tunes, and emcee the event, which will feature giveaways. There will be about 20 classes and trophies, and dash plaques will be awarded in such categories as people's choice, best of and most unique. Discounts will be offered on the venue's remote-control cars, go karts and slot cars, and its hobby shop will be open. Get food and drinks at the indoor cafe or from participating vendors.
